GoFullPage Not Working in Chrome?
Update — August 12, 2026
GoFullPage was temporarily removed from the Chrome Web Store following a copyright-related issue.
GoFullPage says the removal was not related to a security issue, that it believes the takedown was an error, and that it is working with Google to restore the extension.
At the time of this update, the normal GoFullPage Chrome Web Store listing is still unavailable.
We’ll update this page when that changes.
Need a full-page screenshot right now?
PageShotter is a simple Chrome extension for capturing entire webpages as PNG or PDF, with no signup and local processing.
What happened to GoFullPage?
Chrome and other Chromium-based browsers began warning some GoFullPage users that the extension violated Chrome Web Store policy.
The extension subsequently disappeared from its normal Chrome Web Store listing.
GoFullPage has since publicly explained that the removal resulted from a copyright-related issue and says it is working with Google to restore the listing.
That distinction matters.
There is currently no basis for us to claim that GoFullPage was removed because it contained malware or because of a security incident.
Is GoFullPage unsafe?
The browser warning shown to some users may sound alarming because Chrome can warn users when an extension is removed for a Web Store policy issue.
However, GoFullPage says its current removal is related to copyright rather than security.
We therefore would not characterize GoFullPage as malware or as a compromised extension based on the information currently available.
If Chrome or another browser has automatically disabled an extension, it is sensible to respect the browser warning rather than installing unofficial copies.
I need to capture a full webpage today. What can I use?
You have several options.
1. Use Chrome’s built-in screenshot command
Chrome can capture a full webpage through Developer Tools.
Open Developer Tools, open the Command Menu, search for:
Capture full size screenshot
This works well for many ordinary webpages, although it is less convenient if you take screenshots frequently.
2. Use another established screenshot extension
There are several established Chrome screenshot tools, including FireShot.
Different tools handle complex pages differently, so the best option depends on what you’re trying to capture.
3. Try PageShotter
We built PageShotter around a deliberately narrow goal:
Capture one webpage really well.
PageShotter supports full-page capture directly from Chrome without requiring an account.
Our focus is especially on pages that make screenshot extensions annoying to use:
- very long pages;
- lazy-loaded content;
- sticky and fixed elements;
- logged-in webpages and dashboards;
- pages whose height changes while scrolling;
- complex scrolling layouts.
Why build another full-page screenshot extension?
There are already mature screenshot products.
We’re not trying to reproduce every annotation, editing, cloud-sharing or collaboration feature they offer.
PageShotter is intentionally focused on the capture itself.
The basic workflow is:
Open page → click PageShotter → get the entire page.
- PNG and PDF.
- No signup.
- Local processing.
And if something doesn’t capture correctly, we want to know about it.
Found a page your screenshot extension can’t capture?
This is the part we’re most interested in.
If you have a webpage where:
- the header repeats;
- part of the page disappears;
- a scrollable section gets cut off;
- lazy-loaded content is missing;
- the final image is stitched incorrectly;
- the page changes while being captured;
send us a safe reproduction.

Please don’t submit pages containing private or sensitive information. A public reproduction or similar safe example is ideal.
Every genuine failure helps us improve the capture engine.

Exact compatibility depends on the page, especially for unusually complex scrolling layouts.
If you find one that fails, send us a safe reproduction.
